Stock+ manages stock in multiple locations

New in 2010, the 'Multiple Locations' module for Stock+ contains a suite of essential management tools to manage the movement of stock through a busy warehouse or between two (or more) warehouses.

You can manage stock by location (aisles, bays, shelves, bins etc) because Stock+ maintains the detailed breakdown of the stock level held at each bin, whilst Sage continues to show the total stock held at all locations.

Warehouse Management functions in Stock+

New functions available in Stock+ include...

• Stock movements – ad-hoc stock movements from bin-to-bin.
• Picking and Put-Away Bins.   Configurable a product-by-product. 
• Replenishment – moving stock from reserve/bulk locations to forward picking locations.
• Stock Takes by Location – to count the actual stock held at each bin.
• Quarantine – Hold stock at specific locations to prevent further despatch.
• Transit Locations - Visibility of stock that is temporarily in transit. 
• Bin Activity – an audit trail of all stock movements at each location.

 

FIFO (First In, First Out)

The ‘multiple locations’ module is closely coupled with the Traceable Items module, so that stock can be tracked by batch number/lot numbers, ensuring that any stock that is date-stamped is picked from oldest locations first (both FIFO and LIFO are supported).

How it works

When new stock is received, the warehouse staff can scan each put-away location, and when your warehouse pickers are picking orders for despacth they are guided to the next picking location. Again, they can scan the bin to confirm they are at the correct location.

As you may know, Sage Line 50 is constrained by only having a single "Location" field on each product record. So we maintain the detail of quantity held at each location (per product, per bin) within Stock+.  This leaves the stock level within Sage to represent the total stock held at all locations.
